Before I get to the clean responsive WordPress web site design information I’d like to talk a little about the importance of making sure you have access to your own web site!
Customer Ownership Guaranteed… Always!
A potential customer, Clark Welding & Fabricating, contacted me a month ago with an unfortunate issue. Their prior web site designer was unresponsive to calls or emails. To make things worse the folks at CWF had not been provided access to their web site at all. Which means they could post updates or add any information or images.
Once I heard that I immediately took screenshots of their entire existing web site to preserve the information there. Then they provided me with their host providers login information. Upon further inspection I immediately noticed the web site was not being hosted on a service under their account.
They attempted to contact the prior web site designer for a week until realizing it was a dead end and requested I create a new one for them, and so I did.
With me, your web site will always be in your name and you will always have full access to it. Even if you decide to have it redone by another web site designer. That’s my guarantee to you as a potential customer.
With that said, on to the…
Clean Responsive WordPress Web Site Design
This web site design is fairly straight forward, easy readability and simply put gets their services and features out front right away. The design starts with the menu at the top along with a full page hero image showcasing Austin & Coltin Clark welding some massive pipes.
You might be asking “What is a hero image?”, so I’ll tell you. Typically, in web design, it is a large image prominently placed on a web page (doesn’t have to be the home page) that is front and center. It is often the first visual the visitor encounters on the site and represents an overview of the site’s most important content. For this web site I’ve also included a simple overlay of their services.
Immediately after the hero image I’ve setup three simple focus items. Their services, when they can provide their services and why you should choose them. This presents the information in a quick and easy to read format.
After that we provide the customer with a little background information regarding the company and one of the co-owners bio. This gives a nice personal touch with a button that links to their About page. The background image has a nice parallax effect as the visitor scrolls up or down.
Next after the About Us section of the home page is a breakdown of their features utilizing a bright blue background with white icons and text to draw your eyes towards it. Similar to the three simple focus items this provides additional details about their work without having to navigate to another page.
I think that sums up their main design function of CWF’s clean responsive WordPress web site design. There’s a little more information on their home page along with additional eye catching elements on other pages. I invite you to take a look and let me know what you think.
